Family members in a waiting room wave to the camera.

Global Health Engagement Panamax Alpha 2023

Family members of patients can be seen waving to the camera while occupying the waiting room at Regional Hospital Dr. Luis "Chicho" Fabrega in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama, July 17, 2023. These gestures reflect their support and anticipation as they await the completion of their family members cataract extraction surgeries. During interviews, several families emphasized the significance of these surgeries, highlighting their potential positive impacts not just on their own families but also on the broader community.
