Laboratory
All laboratory orders must be dated within 90 days of presentation to the lab (Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center). Specimen collection and drop-off are available.
Fasting bloodwork requires that you have no food or drink, except water and medications, for 10 to 12 hours before blood draw. Please drink plenty of water to ensure you are well hydrated.
Testing ordered by other MTFs in San Antonio may be drawn or collected at the lab (Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center). Military providers have access to all results, regardless of collection location. Please contact the requesting provider or visit Medical Records to get a printout of results.
Announcement for Off-Base Lab Scripts:
Beginning
June 16, 2025, and until further notice, the Laboratory will accept lab scripts from network providers for
Active-Duty patients only. This adjustment allows us to dedicate necessary resources to support the increased phlebotomy needs during BMT initial entry processing.
