Laboratory
All laboratory orders, including outside provider requests, must be dated within 60 days of presentation to the lab (Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center). Specimen collection and drop-off are available.
Fasting bloodwork requires that you have no food or drink, except water and medications, for 10 to 12 hours before blood draw. Please drink plenty of water to ensure you are well hydrated.
Civilian lab requests must include:
- Patient information (Name/DOB/etc.)
- Provider's fax number
- Provider's phone number
- Provider's NPI
- Providers' signature
- Tests requested
Testing ordered by other MTFs in San Antonio may be drawn or collected at the lab (Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center). Military providers have access to all results, regardless of collection location. Please contact the requesting provider or visit Medical Records to get a printout of results.
