Optometry

Routine eye exams are booked through the appointment line. We see all authorized beneficiaries including active duty, retirees and dependents. For contact lens updates, please call the appointment line. You must bring your contact lenses and the prescription with you to the appointment. The prescription may be in the form of: written by the doctor; the box the contacts were received in; or, the individual packages. For the Initial Contact Lens Fit program, you can only be fit for contact lenses if you are on flying status. For glasses, orders for active duty and retired service members are on a walk-in basis. For corneal refractive surgery, aircrew and special duty, members must coordinate their pre- and post-op care with Randolph Flight Surgeons' Office and Randolph Optometry. For non-aircrew and non-special ops, obtain required paperwork at the Randolph Optometry Clinic and then call the Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center Refractive Surgery Clinic directly. For emergencies to include an eye injury, sudden loss of vision, sudden blurry vision or any other emergency, report immediately to the emergency room at the San Antonio Military Medical Center.
