The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

59th Medical Wing prepares for MHS GENESIS

Master Sgt. Jason Jones, 59th Medical Wing MHS GENESIS equipment deployment project manager, processes information technology equipment in a warehouse at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, Aug. 2, 2021. Jones and his team are working to distribute thousands of IT items throughout the 59th MDW in support of the Military Health System's new, modernized electronic health record - MHS GENESIS. MHS GENESIS supports the availability of electronic health records for more than 9.5 million DoD beneficiaries and approximately 205,000 Military Health System personnel globally.
