The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
Our military medical center remains open and we’re continuing to provide healthcare services. Scheduled appointments and procedures are proceeding as planned, and new appointments continue to be booked. 59th Medical Wing: Our team, our fight against the Flu

The Allergy and Immunizations Clinic along with 43 medic volunteers came together during the 59th Medical Wing’s annual flu campaign in the atrium of Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, from October to November 2022. Their teamwork resulted in more than 93% of the wing being vaccinated.

Limited services available in observance of Fourth of July holiday

The 59th Medical Wing will have limited same-day available appointments in the Primary Care Clinics (Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatric) as well as the Gateway Bulverde Family Practice Clinic (located at the intersection of Hwy 281 and Overlook Parkway) on Friday, July 5, 2019 due to observing the scheduled AETC Family Day.All
