The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

SAMHS stands up COVID-19 advice line

Beginning March 24, San Antonio Military Health System medical professionals are standing by to answer beneficiaries' COVID-19 concerns/symptoms.

Patients with COVID-19 concerns/symptoms are advised to call 210-581-2266, option 6, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to  7 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

For patients who have concerns/symptoms outside of the operational hours identified above, should call the MHS Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-TRICARE (824-2273), option 1, or visit MHSNurseAdviceline.com for a web or video chat.
