The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Columbus Day weekend closures for JBSA's screening, testing and vaccine sites

The following are Columbus Day weekend closures for JBSA’s COVID-19 screening/testing sites:

·         BAMC’s site: Open Friday, Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon and closed Monday, Oct. 11.

·         Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, JBSA-Lackland’s site: Open Friday, Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. to noon and closed Monday, Oct. 11.

Both sites will resume normal hours of operation on Oct. 12. For screening/testing site locations and hours of operation, visit https://bamc.tricare.mil/Health-Services/Preventive-Care/Immunizations/COVID-19-Vaccine-Availability

·         BAMC’s vaccination site: Closed from Friday, Oct. 8 through Monday, Oct. 11.

·         WHASC’s vaccination site: Open Friday, Oct. 8 and closed Monday, Oct. 11.

As a reminder, BAMC and WHASC offer the Pfizer vaccine to all DoD beneficiaries ages 12 and older. Beneficiaries can make a same-day appointment on TRICARE Online or by calling the appointment line at 210-916-9900.
