Influenza Vaccine Update

For the most current information see our Flu Vaccine Availability page.

Flu season is upon us. We are concerned about your health and encourage everyone to get vaccinated annually against influenza.

It’s critical that everyone who is able receives a flu vaccine. It’s essential that active duty service members, active duty family members and other beneficiaries are well-protected from influenza.

Please see the guidance below for getting the flu vaccine here at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center.

Active Duty Service Members (ADSMs)

Active duty and Guard/Reserve members are required to get the flu vaccine.

Influenza vaccine (when available) will be offered to all Active Duty Service Members at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. The vaccine is administered at the Immunizations clinic, 3rd Floor, D Wing – unless otherwise advertised.

When you get a flu vaccine from anywhere other than a military hospital or clinic, follow your Service’s policy guidance for recording the vaccine in your shot record.  Department of Air Force service members vaccinated through a participating network provider or TRICARE-authorized provider are encouraged to upload their proof of vaccination through the Patient Portal if their IMR does not automatically update within 7 days.

You'll need the following information listed on your proof of vaccination:

  • DOD ID Number
  • Date of birth
  • The date the vaccine was given
  • The vaccine brand/name
  • Manufacturer
  • Lot number (if available)

Active Duty Family Members (ADFMs)

Influenza vaccine (when available) will be offered to TRICARE-eligible Family Members at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. The vaccine is offered by appointment only at the Immunizations clinic, 3rd Floor, D Wing – unless otherwise advertised.

Other Beneficiaries
Influenza vaccine is available for all other beneficiaries at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. The vaccine is offered by appointment only at the Immunizations clinic, 3rd Floor, D Wing.

Other Options for Getting the Flu Vaccine
